The members of the OCA Ventures team have a passion for building
early-stage companies into market leaders, have long histories working
with one another, and share common core personal and professional
beliefs, while at the same time contributing different skills and
perspectives.
This cohesive group has close business and personal relationships
dating back more than 25 years. John Dugan, Peter Ianello and Marc
Berman were partners in the 1980s when they led O’Connor &
Associates. Jim Dugan is John Dugan’s third son and Eddie Lou and Jason
Heltzer both joined the team in 2001.
Bert Bee-Lindgren -
Bert Bee-Lindgren, an entrepreneur/CTO, is an expert in software
architecture and development as well as network architectures,
applications, protocols and management. Currently, Bert works for the
Georgia Institute of Technology’s Office of Information Technology.
Previously, Bert performed various software-development and
network-engineering roles with Nortel Networks/Synoptics, Bank of
America/NationsBank, GTRI and the Interop Network Operations Center. In
1995, he then became CTO of Net-hopper where he managed the technical
growth of the company from an angel-funded high-tech startup to its
$85M acquisition by and subsequent integration with Spirent
Communications. It was during this time that he was also issued four
patents and wrote several industry articles and white papers.
Bert earned his BS degrees in physics and computer science at
Washington University as well as his MS degree in computer science from
Georgia Tech. After dedicating entirely too much time and doctoral
research towards enhancing the performance and modularity of the
application-to-protocol interface within high-speed, parallel
computers, Bert narrowly escaped from the Ivory Tower and began his
career in the software and networking industries.
